Hello everyone, my name is Uberswe and today I will explain how you can access the Elder Scrolls Online public test server. It’s completely free and open to anyone who has an ESO account. Currently it will allow you to test all of the upcoming content in ESO before it is released.
Before we begin, I just want to mention that the PTS section of the forums is one of the best ways to stay up to date with what is currently happening on the PTS. Here you will see information about upcoming maintenance windows and if there are any other issues or news regarding the PTS.
Now you should already have ESO installed with access to the ESO launcher. As you can see here there is a games section on the left that currently only lists the main game. However if you click the button up here to the right of the screen where my mouse pointer is, it will bring up several additional options. One of these options is “Show Public Test Environment” and if we check this box and then click on apply we should now see the PTS as one of our games.
The PTS will now be downloaded and once it’s ready we will be able to click on Play to start the game just like you normally would. Keep in mind that the PTS will take up about as much space as the base game.
So all of these yellow items here are bags or boxes with anything you might need for testing. Every single item set in the game is here. So for example if I wanted to find the Kinra’s item set I would open the Armor, Jewlery and Weapons bag. Then the Dungeons bag and keep navigating down until I find the item set. This will allow you to equip better gear for your character very easily.
Now I want to touch a bit on skills. For this template character you automatically have all the skill points available in the game and every skill tree is already unlocked. Most of your passive skills will already have the base morph purchased for you so that you only have to select the morph.
That should be all you need to know to get started with the PTS server. You can now run around and explore the new content that is coming to ESO in a few weeks. Please do let me know if I missed anything important in the comments below.
